Max Ehrmann, 1872 - 1945, was a German-American writer, poet and attorney from Terre Haute, Indiana. He is well-known for his prose poem, Desiderata. In 2010 he was honored with a life sized statue, by artist Bill Wolfe. It depicts Mr. Ehrmann sitting on a downtown bench with pen in hand, notebook in lap. This sits at the corner of Wabash Avenue and 7th Street in Terre Haute, Indiana
